We process the following categories of data:

  • Account data: the email address you provide to sign in via magic link.
  • Contact data: the text of the messages you send to landlords through the platform.
  • Browsing and technical data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, security logs and an anonymous session identifier.
  • Usage and analytics data: collected through analytics tools, only with your prior consent (see Cookie Policy).

3. Purposes and legal bases

We process data for the following purposes:

  • Providing the service, managing magic-link sign-in and forwarding your enquiries to landlords — legal basis: performance of a contract (Art. 6.1.b GDPR).
  • Ensuring security, preventing abuse and keeping technical logs — legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6.1.f GDPR).
  • Statistical analysis and measurement via non-essential cookies — legal basis: consent (Art. 6.1.a GDPR), withdrawable at any time.
  • Complying with legal obligations — legal basis: legal obligation (Art. 6.1.c GDPR).

4. Cookies and similar technologies

5. Data retention

We keep data for as long as necessary for the purposes it was collected: account data while you keep an active account; contact messages for the duration of the relationship with the landlord; cookies for the durations listed in the Cookie Policy. Technical logs are kept for a limited period for security purposes.

6. Data recipients

Data may be shared with providers acting as data processors, including:

  • Cloud hosting providers (Microsoft Azure) to run the site.
  • Transactional email providers to send sign-in links and notifications.
  • Analytics providers (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity), only with consent.
  • Listing partners: if you choose to continue on a partner site you will be redirected away from RentYourNest and the partner's policies will apply. RentYourNest may earn an affiliate commission.

7. Transfers outside the EU

Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. In such cases the transfer relies on appropriate safeguards under the GDPR, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

8. Your rights

As a data subject you have the right to:

  • access your data and obtain a copy;
  • request rectification of inaccurate data;
  • request erasure of your data (right to be forgotten);
  • request restriction of processing;
  • object to processing based on legitimate interest;
  • receive your data in a structured format (portability);
  • withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing;
  • lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, www.garanteprivacy.it).
