A cozy and finely furnished one bedroom apartment with kitchenette is available for rent. It is on the 2nd floor of a listed building located on the hill of Monticelli which is 2 hours south of Florence, 2.5 hours north of Rome and 20 minutes from Perugia, the capital of Umbria. Several of the listed buildings on the hill are over 1400 years old and have been recently beautifully restored under the supervision of the Italian Ministry of Culture. Originally the buildings were a fortress at the border of the Easten Roman Empire with the Lombards. It later became a benedictine monastery and after 1474 a summer and hunting residence of noble families. There is a breathtaking view from the windows of this apartment and from all the terraces on the top of the hill. The minimum stay is 3 months. The rent of € 700 includes the condo fees, Wi-Fi, Internet, Smart TV and parking. However, the use of gas, water and electricity are not included. The Internet connection is very good and therefore Castello Monticelli attracts also digital nomads. On the hill we have 1 hectar of common gardens, terraces and lawns, 2 parking lots and 2 pools. We have also a spa and a restaurant.
